Lil Bees Design Team Creation

Good afternoon everybody! I hope you are doing just great. I have been busy been a mom and creating my first layout for Lil Bees's Design Team. So Here it is...

For this lay out I use Hero Art and Stampin' Up stamps. I use SU inks. Embellishments from Western's pages as well as the paper and glossy accents.

I know.. this picture of us was taken looooong time ago, don't kill me I am just trying to catch up with my Scrap booking here.

I looooooove glossy accents, don't you?

I have to practice my handwriting. I have to admit that this one is not too bad.

Love the flower too...

I apologize these pictures are not the best. It's been raining here for the last two days and frankly I do not have a good camera or a set to take pictures. So bare with me as I will try to post new pictures of this layout.

Wonderful Grandmother

Hello There!

I should have tittle this post "Grandmothers"... Emma has wonderful grandmothers and this is a card I made for one of them. She is very special and I know she will appreciate this card along with the pics we sent.

We decided to stay and have Emma come to this world in Islamabad.We were by ourselves and we missed them dearly. Hugs to both of them. :( This was also a card that got lost in the mail... how frustrating this is becoming. I wish the postal service was more reliable.

Anyway... from the materials used I can't tell much since it is old paper I still have hanging around the house. I can tell you I used Stampin' Up Wonderful Favorites stamps set and ink as well as the inspiration from Kristina's template to make this card.

The Same...

I discovered card making when I was very young and although I had no idea there were amazing products in the market I went ahead and created cards without them. It was difficult but that never stopped me.

When I created this layout I was well aware of the products and I was able to acquire some. But it was with the help and inspiration of a friend that I created it.

La misma means the same... I dont think I have change much and that is what this layout is about. Enjoy some of the pics I took.

Because this layout was created such a lont itme ago I can't really tell where the paper came from, the letters I cut myself, the pic was taken by my father and the journaling was done on computer. the little embellishments were also handmade from scratch. I remember how proud I felt of my actually very first layout.

Since I am part of a Little Bee's design team I can't wait to create more and demonstrate to myself I can create more than just cards.

My good friend Erica got married not too long ago. There was no time for me to prepare anything before the big day so I made this card and sent it to her with other Pakistani goodies. Sadly the card and goodies got lost in the mail :( But I got to take a couple of pics of this card before sending it.

I used Kristina's template to create those great layers, I cut the heart shapes by hand with an exacto knife. I used Ranger's embossing powder and Cosmo Cricket from their UPCycle collection.

I really like the results. what do you guys think?

Part of a Design Team!!!

Hello everybody,

I have been so quiet for so long but I have an excuse. At work things has gone a bit crazy, buzzzzzzzy all the time, always working, working, working like a bee... until we got a break in December and went home for our folks to me Emma. It was an amazing Christmas... I miss being with family at this time of the year. We had a wonderful but very busy time setting up our new home and visiting everybody.

Right before we left for Christmas I got an update from Hana at the Lil Bees Boutique she was looking for people to be part of her design team. I was thrill with the idea of: "MAYBE I can be part of it."

Now, I am!!! and that is the good news. Definitely wait for my first few layouts made with great products. Here is the link to Lil Bees Boutique. You can check her blog here. My Memories Suite

The school year started and we have all been going a bit crazy for days are passing by very fast. Well, in spite all the busy schedule good things are happening around us. Baby E, is doing wonderful and we can't get enough of her.We have manage to become homeowners and learned a lot in the processes. We have been blessed this year.

I got to know Liz Gardner and My Memories Suite 2. Have you heard from it? It is a digital Scrapbooking Software. It was rated # 1 in Amazon.com and To Ten Reviews. I was invited to try it. I am usually not a scrapbooker but I have been trying to become one with the help of my friend Hana and her Little Bee blog.

So, I made this Layout. It is officially my first digital layout. My knowledge of Photoshop is sadly very limited but with My Memories software is soooooooooooo easy to create pages. Hello Everyone!

Today I am posting an old card. I love this paper from My Mind's Eyes.Lots of patterns and colors. I still have tons from this collection and I don't think I will run out if it soon. Which gets me thinking about giving this paper a different use other than cards. I keep going through Pinterest and all the favorites people pin specially the DIY pins. It is amazing the amount of creative people out there in the world.

When I created this card I was thinking of my fellow teachers and how thankful I am for their support and understanding in many ways. I am going to stop talking and let you enjoy. I apologize for the pics. They are not as great as they use to be when I was in Venezuela. Something to do with the time of the day I am takig my pics now.

Hello everyone!

I am on a roll and I will tell you why in another post. But for now please enjoy this card I made. This is a stitched card using October Afternoon from the Modern Homemaker collection. I looooooove this pad.

I also used DMC 25 red and black to stitch the card and make it a bit different. I also used Inkadinkado All Occasions Stamps and Stampin Up Basic Black ink. The paper comes from the School House collection from October Afternoon.

The lay out as you can see it was not my idea. If you go to this link you will see that I am still a fan of Kristina Werner hehehe... (sigh) Oh how I miss her challenges. That is why I am using her layouts a lot lately. It is a bit of a challenge to make other's ideas work in your cards and in you own style, don't you think?

Hello Everyone!

I have not being able to stop using (actually trying to use) kraft cardstock for cards. I loooove how other designers like Kristina used it with versamark and created this cartoonish effect. Anyway, here is what I came up with. It took me a while to get this effect going (lack of material or bad use of it ;))

So the layout was an inspiration from Kwerner and the rest of the materials and tools ~~will be posted tomorrow~~. My little girl, Emma, is asleep and I have to take advantage of it while I can. Hugs to everyone and thanks for reading.

I used Versamark Ink pad, October Afternoon's Homemaker collection paper pad, Home Tweet Home stamps from My Little Shoe box, quite cute stamp!

My good friend Traci gave birth to a handsome precious little boy, Jamie, a few weeks ago. As usual I was late creating and sending the card. If you see this one and compare it to this one... you can see a great resemblance in layout.

Relaxing Journey

We've have had our hands full. Full of work and Emma. Yes, our little girl keeps us busy right after school. we take turns to feed her, change her diapers and play with her.
My husband has been great with Emma and giving a hand. Always willing to help and sacrifice his down time for her. He is in love with Emma. It is a pleasure to see him with her from changing diapers to playing. Anyway, I made this card specially for him. There was a point this Summer when he got badly sick and needed a break and so I got him a gift card to a spa where he could chose a massage and relax.Yes, I tried to send him off to a relaxing journey.

I was inspire by this card designed by Kristina Werner. Don't you love how creative she is? I wish she could continue with her Color Challenges. I use to have tons of fun with those.

I used October Afternoon paper, Lawn Fawn' stamps, Stamping up ink, Maya Road Chipboard letters, Maya Road mist, American Crafts's rub ons.

It has been such a CRAZY year for me here. Teaching, getting to have the yearbook started, finish and published and being very much pregnant. Not an easy thing to keep up with creativity, cards, sleep, and bunch other things.

I made these cards as part of a thank you small little thing for the yearbook club members. All students. We had a wonderful time finishing everything in a hurry. We got to use many digital kits from two peas. eat pizza during our breaks and watch Glee when there was no electricity.

Hello everyone,

I will go straight to the point here. I have been absent. I would fail all of my classes if I was a student in middle school. Fortunately I am not and as always, I owe you a big apology, please accept it.

There are a few things that changed a lot in the last few months. I am no longer working in an office. I was made full time teacher this year and I am in charge of yearbook (still terrifyed about it. Waking up at night thinking about how to go with it.) I am definitely bumped about not having inks to use my stamps or design paper... I keep drooling over other people's creations and day dream about all the products I don't get to buy/use/enjoy/ benefit from because we are so far away. (sigh). I love Pakistan but why does shipping have to be so expensive?

The good news is... at six months pregnant (yes, I am pregnant, how exciting!!!)... there is a lot going on in my head and belly. It is our first child and after the first trimester everything seems to be back to normal except the lower back pain.

I am really drooling now a days for baby room decorations I see from ohdedooh.com and many other websites. Also many DIY ideas to decorate the baby room. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I have been busy trying to take care of myself, do my job as a full time teacher and think of ideas to keep the baby room very Pakistani.... (pics soon.)

I would like to thank those of you who have wrote wondering about my whereabouts, the blog and my life. You just make me want to go online to 2peas and spend a lot of money getting everything I need/want to continue with my passion.

Coming Back Home

Good evening everyone!

(Sigh).. yeah... we are traveling tomorrow night and today it has hit me... vacation is over. The journey back to Islamabad will be very long and I am not really looking foward to it but we will finally be home and ready for work and also back to my beloved tools and paper!

A Card Before the Summer Break!

Hello everyone!

I am note sure if you have already deleted me from your following list. I hope not. Could have been a more busy time of the year?! ehhhh nop! the schoool year came to an end and with it graduation among other things.

I was asked to make invitations for a tea and here are the results. I love the old look of these invitations. The only actual card-making tool I used is the binding edge punch. it is one of the three punches I brought with me from home but wasn't able to use and this was the perfect opportunity to.

I have to admit it was an easy task in many ways AND.... FUN! as you can tell these images nor the background are stamped. Yeap, I made them with most simple computer program we all have installed in our computers. and of course I had access to a super lovely laser printer... what a huge difference that makes... I am thinking I should get a laser printer...

Anyway, people, please let me appologize for not being able to post anything. Besides the bussiness I got no inspiration for cards lately ... I keep thinking I need to have a purpose for these cards many of the ones I made are sitting in a ziploc bag waiting to be giving but the opportunity has not come at all!

On a different note. I am very happy because Summer is here and it is time to put into action the travel plans we thought so much about for the last month or two. So, I will be going back home to see family and friends! I miss them dearly! (sigh). We are leaving on monday (21st) and will be in the country the 23rd yipiii!

Okay, enough. I just though of a great opportunity to make cards... my family and the gifts we are taking with us! a couple of tags would be great don't you think?

How are you doing? So, remember I told you there was a little surprise?! Well, here it is:

The Paper Caper was featured in Inspirational!!! OMG!!! first time ever! and I am so greatful thanks a lot Anthonette... this totally made my week... month and year! I am also very excited to have visitors and new followers. Thanks a lot you guys are amazingly good to me!

I am also very happy because I was invited to participate in a Bazaar for today. I took my cards with me to sell and had tons of fun, meeting people and catching up with those I haven't spoken in a long time. Thanks Alana!

I have also beeing trying to post these cards but it's been impossible! So here they are...

I used Hero Art Stamp sets. I looooove both stamp sets. I am not sure about the cards though. I think they are nice and simple! very easy to make too!

I like thisone better of the two cards. I am so curious to know what have you guys come up with these stamp set.

Well I am going to keep it short here. It is Sunday night here and got to work tomorrow. You all have made me sooooo happy!

What do these have in common?

Hello there!

I am soo happy and I am dying to let you know why. I am just not sure how it works and I promise I will let you know as soon as I am sure but I rather wait and see what happens before I tell you.

In a different note..tell me, what do these cards have in common?! Yes, you got it! it is the colors and o course the paper. I have come up with another way to use the same piece of paper to create several cards.

This one you'll notice is not very straight but I liked the idea. I used Cosmo Cricket 6x6 paper a tons of bit of paper I carried with me all the way from America. I also used Hero Art stamps, versamark and embossing powder of course.

Of all these cards I think this one was the funnest to create. Lots of itsy bits to do with a great result ( in my opinion anyway) I should be more humble and let you be the judges!

Again, tons of bits of paper, staping, embossing, sutting gluing... sigh, fun, fun, fun.

Last but not least, butterflies! I heard they are very IN these days I don't have many to different kinds of butterflies so you will be seeing these several times for a while.

Well, I am truly can't wait to let you know but I promise as soon as it happens I will come and blog about it!

Hello there!

Have you ever heard the saying " We'll just have to make do"? I have actually had it in my head for the last 8 months. So with that in mind I have come up with ideas to make the cards I WOULD make IF I had the proper materials. So for this one I cut and made my own "Stencil" kind of stamp with the letters.

I think it turned out well except I won't be able to use the template anymore I kind o ruined it with versamark plus I chose the wrong material to make it.

Anyway... I would love to hear about what improvisation you have made to made cards... if you do have one please let me know!

Good afternoon or morning or evening...

Hope you are all great today. To tell you the truth, I am a bit tired but excited to show you this card. I know there is nothing really special to this card, I just really like it!!

I have actually thought of making a series of the same kind of black and white cards with itsy bits of color. The only color I added on this one was a 3/4" stripe of Cosmo Cricket paper I used at the border of the card.

I also love the chic from a stampin up set I can't remember the name of... but I am telling you that chic is quite versitile, don't you think? I also added the heart with one of the Hero Arts stamp and some of my hand writing.

Easy to put together, fast and cute, what do you think?

Oops! I completely forgot to post these tags I made to give along with St. Valentine's day little goodies to all of our new friends here in Islamabad.

I used the DCWV Mi Casa Collection. It was the only paper I brought with me before leaving the USA.

Please excuse my camera from this next picture. This pic just made me realize I need to up grade to a better camera... something that won't change the colors in my cards. Hopefully won't have to be a very big camera or too sofisticated or at least easy to use! What camera do you currently use to take pics of your cards?! please let me know!

Music Recital

Hello there!

We are back from our trip to Thailand. Let me tell you it is our second time there and it was great! we planned better this time and our time there turn out to be much more enjoyable.

Okay lets go to the matter of this post which is this card down here. It is actually an invitation I was asked to create for a Srping Music Recital. I first started thinking about flowers and things like that... but since I had to create at least 15 I knew I could not put too many details in this card... so here it is...

I used thread inspired on KWerner's card. I don't have much material but what I have I am trying to use every bit or recycle which I did. the Kraft paper is recycled!

The music notes were "saddly" printed from my computer. I say saddly because to tell you the truth I rather stamp them but hey it worked!

So what do you think? In a different note. I am very happy to be back to our home in Islamabad. Our bed, our confortable kitchen, living room and tv room! Love them all!

Every Bit

Hello everyone... AGAIN!

I have been very happy with the Cosmo Cricket paper I got a few weeks ago. Bu I have also become very aware of how little paper I have and the so very SMALL chances of getting some more any time soon. So because of that I have become a RECYCLER. I've always tried to use every single piece of paper but nowadays I think twice before throwing anything. from circles to small corners.

So I have used couple of pieces of the 6x6 Cosmo Cricket paper to create several cards with different sentiments. Here they are:

On this one (on top)I started to put small and big pieces together...

Fot this one I was already a bit out of paper and cardstock. can you tell? hehehe.

I was trying to post these cards in the same order I made them but made the mistake of thinking I could change the order easily. Don't you hate when Blogger just doesn't make it wasy for you?!

Well, on this one (on top) I created still had a bit of paper. and created a window card.

Ohhhh on this one I still had a lot and made a circle and used a big piece to place on the side of the card again with KWerner inspiration!

Well, so these are all the cards I made with three pieces of 6x6 and help of leftover color cardstock.

Have you done such a challenge?! I mean using specific quantity of paper to make x number of cards?! If so let me know and tell me about how you rationed the paper.

Hello everyone,

I know it's been a long time. I have been as busy as a bee. Work has been hectic but today I am ready to take our spring break vacation and enjoy it. We will be going to Thailand for couple of weeks and will be hopefully, refreshed and ready to face the rest of the school year...

So, I was very happy to be able to order a few little things. I actually order paper (6x6) from cosmo Cricket and a few other necesary things. I couldn't believe it made all the way to Islamabad in great conditions! Quite expensive but it definitely help get my creative juices flowing again!

So I have been busy creating cards inspired by those amazingly creative people I follow. Here are some of the cards I have created with time.

Yes, I tried to have a KWerner kind of background picture.. I think I will stick with what I know works for me. Plus I do't have that much designer paper to do this.

I used Hero Art stamp sentiment along with Cosmo Cricket paper and some leftover Chipboard I brought with me.

I was isnpired by Kwerner and cut 3/4" piece from the bottom of the card and replaced it with cosmo cricket paper. I really like this card and how it turned out.

I will edit the size of the other photos and will post them ... hopefully today before we leave to Thailand. Thanks for reading my blog! see yah soon!

2 in 1 Embellish Magazine Challenge

Hello Everyone!

I have just fallen for the colors on Embellish Magazine. So here I am one more time playing with the colors and embellishment of this challenge.

It was required to use ribbon along with brown, pink and turquoise... click HERE to check their post for this challenge.

So I made this one first:

Right colors but I wasn't convinced. I just think this card was just not my style. I even tried taken different angle pictures just to see if I ended liking it.

But it didn't work... so I started another one and noticed I forgot to make a close up of How I use the ribbon to make a butterfly so here is part of a second card I made for the challenge and a close up of the ribbon.

Here is the card TA- DAAAAA!

I like this one better... I still feel it is not me but I liked the result... simple, and confortable layout and follow all the rules!

For these two cards I used ribbon I bought by meters in a store ( sorry I don't know the brand), Hero Art stamp, embossing powder, Martha Stewart stamps and a cutsie little flower given to me by a friend.

Well, let's see if I can submit... I can't connect to the website for some reason.

EBTKS Challenge # 3

Hello everybody,

Have you been by the EBTKblog? Check this sketch out...what do you think? Even though I usually make sketches before I make a card (well I try)... this turned out to be quite difficult... you know I was in search of something that has never been done! hehehe silly me.. it took me forever to come up with something "unusual" and end up with...well... that... go on... keep scrolling down you'll see what I mean...Yeah this is it. I particularly like it... a bit disapointed that it wasn't out of the ordinary but hey... something doesn't have to be uncommon to be beautiful. right?

It's been a while since the last time I have submitted anything. want to play along? I think you might still have a few hours check it out! Everything But The Kitchen Sink challenge #3. Enjoy it!

I am going to keep this sweet and short to check on the other creations. I am always inspired and amazed of all the things everyone else do in these fun challenges.

I have used many materials that I was given and I have not a clue of what company designed the paper or what collection they are from the paper or brad. I have used Hero Art acrylic stamps, and Martha Stewart acrylic stamps with Versamark and embossing powder as well as brads.

Simple and super easy to do. What do you think?

Embellish Magazine Challenge: Color with Stripes

After my last post I was sooooo determined I sat down on that desk chair and didn't got up until I had an idea. Well, it worked!! and here is my take on this fabulous challenge at Embellish Magazine. I do recommend that you pass by and filled your eyes with the amazing cards the team made for this challenge.

So here is my submission:

I used SU Fun & Fast Notes stamp set, Color Box ink, Hero Art Stamp for the sentiment, Bazill paper along with Pocket Full of Possies Stack paper from DCWV. Not many things, ah?!

Okay I am very sleepy. While here is 10:00pm, it is close to noon back home. Just the thought of it makes me tired. Have a good night rest and I promise I will keep practicing the same tactic in order to get cards done... just sit until a card comes up!

I have gone around looking at the color challenges as well as the layout challenges and amazes me that when I check the already submitted cards they have either the layout or the same use of colors I was thinking of... waut a minute...Aren't those my ideas?! should I still go for it and create a card that would look like the one someone else's made?! What do you guys do in this situation? It is very acquard and very incredible that this happens. I have to say that it happened too many times this weekend.

Anyway, that makes me be a bit down and creatively bumped for this weekend.

I have also find that the expectations on some of these challenges have gone either very low or is it that the winners are picked up randomly by a computer software?! if someone knows about what is going on with the challenges or me, please let me know!

Embelish Magazine Color Challenge

Hello again... I am telling you this is definitelly a record, not only am I posting twice today but I am posting cards to submit the into challenges. I am very motivated for different reasons: first I have got new goodies and second the challenges are HOT! great colors or they are very... uhhmmm...challenging in terms of materials to use in the projects... plus I get to meet tons of people in these challenges.

Well, this are the colors for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge... very Valentine's colors but I thought of friendships instead and this is what I came up with:

Well, part of it. In the box of new goodies I got Inkadinkado's fun cartoons ( I can't remember the exact name of the stamp set but it is cute. I also been loving stamping these characters and instead of coloring them I jut cut them and leave them just like they are.

So this card is quite simple but I still like it. what do you think?!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge No. 6

Hello there!

While going nuts without craft goodies, I kept looking at the challenges over at EBTKS.
I loved how everybody worked so hard and got rewarded with nice candies!

Well, this time I had to participate. This time the main material to be use was from wrapping paper to napkins... since I don't have any of those laying aorund the house and it was allowed to use paper from a variatyof things... I had to use this bag.

I have had an eye on this bag for a long time now. It is very black but I love splash of color on it. so... this bag was going to be part of my challenge. This is what I came up with:

I had to also use a wood stamp. No I am not talking about wood mounted stamps, I am talking about wood stamps. Whenever you come to Pakistan or India you will see beautil fabrics and when you ask about them they will say it is hand colored, handprinted or handmade period. So what they mean is that they have used woodblocks to stamp it. I regret not having a pic of the little wood stamps I got.

Saddly you can't use just any ink. you have to use a thick ink... SU ink pads wont work neither chalk. I had to use Speeball ink and let it sit for a while to dry completely. It might look a bit busy of a card but I still like it.

I love the colors I was able to get from the bag. I almost wish I could have used them all in this card, they are very warm and bright, my kind of colors!

Okay you guys... hope you are palying along this challenge, enjoy the card, and hope this gets you to recycle some cute bags this way.

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration # 57

Hey 2 posts in one day? I know, I can't believe it either! Well this time I had participate in Kristina Werner Color inspiration #57. She use to use a lot of her time to post these and not only that go through a few submissions that suddendly became hundreds... So I understand it takes tons of time to sort and go thru all the entries.

So know you understand whay I had to participate. Plus the colors are great and I challenged my self to use them all. So here is my submission.

The colors are not exactly the same and it was not wasy to put them together but I liked the results.

I used Inkadinkado stamps, Color Box inks, Martha Stweart stamps, embossing powder, and lot of patience to cut the gecko. I love that the gecko is plain white. it looks very cartoonish and "vintagy"?! Anyway, one more image and you can go ahead and check the rest of the submissions.

Checked what inspired travelingmama in this post. I really loved not only the objects but also the colors and since I finally got some inks and new stamps... I had to play with them and use the color combination she had going on in the post.

So with no further due...

The Size of this card is half of a regular 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I am telling you those colors worked great! I was lucky to have some of them. I really do feel very blessed to be able to buy online and get some goodies delivered. I was really down not to have my usual stash.

So, for this card I used: Martha Stweart acrilic stamp, Hero art acrylic stamps, Color Box inks and some ramdom paper I bought at the local Book store.

I thought it turned out pretty well and made three more cards. I already give them away to Faye. She was very generous during the holidays and let me borrowed tons of her stamps so I could make some Christmas cards.

Happy New Year everybody!

As you might have noticed because of my tiwts, we decided to go to exciting INDIA! but before our departure I had some time to make these cards to send home to my family. I am sure the package is still in transit however I keep hoping and praying it will get there, no matter how late.

Anyway, here they are. I was not planning on using these colors at all but they came together as I was browsing through my recycle file of cardstock.

For this one I have to admit it is not my favorite one just because the background on the right side of the card didn't turned out as I wanted. I do however love the embossed snowflake.

This is just a different angle of the same card. I liked the colors so much I decided to make a series with the same materials and here are the results:

Aren't there times when after you have made a card and you look at the pics and think you could have done something different to it? This one I like too but I think it is too square of a base card. Oh well!

I still like it!

This is, I think, my favorite of them all! I had this little piece of embossed snowflake left over and had to use it somehow... and it worked very nicely I think.

Sometimes I wish I had a super creative brain to come up with "cooler" sketches like Kristina Werner or Ashley Newel, or Tina from the travelingmama or Joanne... I pray it will come to me more often specially if I keep up making cards.

Something I feel I need badly is Challege... I might join Ashley's!! We'll see! Anyway, I hope this year is full of grea blessings and among them tons o health and prosperity to ya'll!

Hello everyone!

It was a very nice weekend. Visiting a couple of Bazaars to try to get things for the house. Baking Babka and trying to make a sketch card some to live.

I have been in the mood for christmas, I have added to my library list of music at http://www.last.fm/ christmas music, well some. I have been missing the smells of christmas from home. So today I was able to change the desing I sketched to mae it look lika this:

So what do you think?! I have used so little materials it is not funny!! I amloing everybodies seasonal cards. specially the 25 holiday cards form Kristina and Ashley Newell´s! There is not end to their creativity, for diferent layouts, colors and use of materials! (sigh) .

Sketch Book!

So not having all my card making materials really gets me. Yes, I admit it! but what is worse, it shuts down my imagination and so I spend hours looking at other people's creations while starving for new materials, new ideas, etc.

Then I remembered Krisntina's sketch book. Wow!! her template is great, the directions from her video are amazingly easy to follow and I will have to have a use for it would be lost material... I loved it so much I ended up making two: one for me and one to share.

So here are the two I came up with. Since lacking many things I decided I was going to use my computer to create paper with a word pattern that said: " imagine, sketch, create" over and over and over again.

And here is the other one. I love both they are simple and the best of all they are soooooo useful. Believe me guys we should all at least try to make one of these. It truly has helped get my inspiration back!

Ahhhh what a relieve!!!

So what you think?! they are not as pretty as Kristina's but hey they work!

So the other day after I made the sketch book I was thinking I have to sit down and used it. and this is one of the cards that came up after using the precious sketch book.

I used small pieces of paper with all kinds of greens and other colors. So excuse me if I don't mention any of the paper desiners that I used. I know I have a bit of DCWV, My Minds Eye, and I can't remember the others. I used Inkadinkado clear stamp to write "Merry" and my own hand to Write "Christmas".

(sigh) I am so frustrated for not having the soooo many of my things with me... all my ink pads stamps, paper, punches, etc. It is a great excuse to get new things but not when they cost so much to bring them here... to Pakistan.

I keep praying that I will not get frustrated anymore and get actually more creative about making cards with little materials. (sigh)

Sorry for yapping so much. I hope you like this card and the challenge of making a card with little materials and give it a try. Le t me know what you come up with.

As I told you, I have not missed any of the blogs' latest happenings. Tell me, who doesn't love Kristina Werner and her so very inspirational cards?

So time to eat turkey an count your bleassings more carefully then usual. I have tons let me share a couple:

I give thanks for...

1) Loving, kind, funny, creative, amazingly smart, skillful, patient and always handsome husband.

2) Loving and caring family.

3) Been able to experience other cultures and countries.

4) Health.

5) Feeling the promises coming true from up above.

There are so many more...So been that time of the year, where we give thanks for everything, plus the help of the fabulous tutorial from Kristina Werner, I made this card:

I am so curious about how other peoples card turn out. I am telling you, I miss Kristina's challenges and the amazing job she did of picking the bests and making an electronic "quilt" with all of them! (sigh). However her 25 days of cards videos are just "delicious" as a former 3rd grade student use to say and they are a great inspiration.

Absence is Over

Good evening,

How justify my absence here?! There is none, really. I am sure you want to know. I have been busy ( that is our major excuse). I have been in Islamabad for a few months but feels like we have been here for a couple of weeks. Work and the stress of the situation in the country just brings you down and the creative juices seem to dismiss itself saying "it is not a good time".

But things are getting better in the city and the juices are almost back into inspiration mode. I have to admit I have not missed any of my friends blogs... I have been checking them out and seen what products are new, what techniques are the latests scream in the fashion world of card making and I end up with big sighs and saying to myself "if only".

So... I have been creating some stuff this week and you will see them soon. Thanks for those of you who have been leaving a comments while I have been sooooo absent, and reminded me that in this gigantic sea people still care!

No Stamp Birthday Card

Hello, hello!

Yes, this is a Birthday card. Taking intoaccount my shortage of basic materials I decided to start experimenting making cards with out stamps. I like to scribble so whenever I draw something I like then I make a template on vellum paper. So this card I think turn out pretty well. Check it out!

Yes, I still have some designer paper. This one in particular I don't know the name. It came with a chipboard packet I got somewhere. I am sure you have also seen this image in the past. I used it to make a birthday card at the very begining of this blog. The message... well, I am not very happy with it but it works okay. It is my hand writing.

First Cards in a Foreing Land

Hello everyone!

I am very happy but a little sad too. I am very thankful for everything that has happened to us. We moved to Pakistan and have had a great start here.

I am a little sad because I didn't get to bring all my suplies. I wasn't able to buy all of the cute things or the much needed things I was dying to get before coming here. I could not get soooo many things but with all and all I am very thankful for everything.

Our days here have gone really fast and everything's been fine. We are really enjoying our house, garden and the neighborhood. I have even met a papercrafter today through e-mail, Hi Afsha!!

Since I don't have many of the materials that I normaly use. I have decided to try and go black and white for the first card. Here it is!

I thought the card wasn't as sad as I imagined in my mind. It actually made me feel very good. The truth is that I was not in the mood to create but I thought I would organize my craft spot and give it a try.

Then a challenge!! There was a Baby shower for four baby boys!! Yes, four baby boys and four different moms. I checked for ideas on ETSY and KWerner's blog. Put different ideas together and here is the card I came up with.

What do you think about my first cards in a foreign land? Now I can say I feel very challenged and very happy to have such a great opportunity. To be VERY creative and use materials like I have never used before.

What I Will Miss The Most!

I am in my home town with my family, finally enjoying the summer vacation. We already took a road trip, been up and down all over town, made sleep overs and of course lunch and dinner together.

Today while reading travelingmama's American Shopping List I couldn't be more amazed on how simple the list was and how I keep making everything soooo complicated trying to figure out what is it that I will miss the most? should I take bunch of goodies? am I willing to spend money on extra luggage to take all the goodies? Of course I should. All this thinking made me realized that it is my family I will miss the most, this beautiful land and the people.

Now off to do some more research and more errands.

P.S. I have been missing my craft paper things!! (sigh)

Hey how are y'all doing? This is what I have been doing and how I have been feeling lately about the whole moving-out-of-the-country thing.

My summer just started and along with it the loooong process of emptying the appartment. My DH left really early this morning. I am already missing him tons!In the mean time I am sitting in a cybercafe because we terminated our internet and cable contract... sooo... after a long day of moving things around our apartment ... I am tired, girls.

I am also very happy. Seems like all those months of preparations have been worth the stress it caused. Things are happening very fast now and everyday doesn't seem to be enough.. but ohhh well... just like what Bobby Marley sed to sing "...everything is going to be alright, everything is going to be alright, everything is going to be alright..."

For now I am looking foward to see my family at the end of this week, enjoy them as much as I can and... this is going to be crazy but I am looking foward to meet our buddies Bernadine and Henrique! yes.. they are comming to town all the way from Islamabad... Yipee!!!

Okay, I am running out of time here, so I am going to be leaving soon. Just wanted to drop a line or two about what I have been doing.

Have any of you moved from your country? I would love to know about your experience. The only thing that I have to say for now is that it feels good, it has not hit me yet that I will be leaving my country, my town, my home, my family, my friends ( sighs) or maybe it has already!

A new Life In Pakistan!

WOW! can't believe such a long time has passed since I last posted anything. Sorry about that!

Well, I am writing to let you know I will be absent for a while. Our tiny little family is moving to Pakistan. Yes, I know it sounds crazy but we do really believe it will be not only a big culture change but also a great and positive experience. We will go to a place we are both going to learned about the culture of, since none of us have lived in that area of the world.

I was soooo busy making last minute cards for friends, packing and finishing the school year that.. I barely had time to put up any pictures of my latest creations.

One of the things I will miss the most,besides all my family, the good company, the yummy stuff, and magnificent weather, is the scrapbooking club at Scrap-it! Could it be that there are card makers or scrapbookers or paper artists in Pakistan? that will be my next reasearch project.

So, please bare with me as our journey to a new home starts in a week (it actually started at least a month ago). I will post some pics of our soooo-empty apartment soon.

Hello there,

Once again I am going nuts and not updating as much as I would love to. It is just that I am getting ready to finish the school year and also we are moving to a different country ( I am soooo exited about it) ...later on I will let you know where.. but it is happening soon. I think it is a great excuse for not post anything in a loooong time.

Anyway I just couldn't let this color inspiration pass, it is Kristina's 50th Color Inspiration I am so happy for her!!!!Congrats Kristina! and this is my card:

I am telling you, this was the taughest Color Inspirations of all I have done! Cute colors but not easy to use them all in one single card, you know! Please forgive the picture, my hubby is traveling with the camera and I am left with my phone's cam.

I basically use bazzil card stock, DCWV yellow cardstock, some buttons I got from the merceria, flowers I got from a friend, Inkadinkado clear stamp set, chipboard and a lot of time to make this simple card...

Guys, just in case I don't get to win anything (I rarely win anything) I have to say, it is so much fun to just participate check on your ideas and cards and just give and receive comments!! Don't you?

Hello there!

I made this card thinking my friends can use it to thank their son/daughter 's teacher... for parent teacher conference, for report cards, or for any special occasion just fo a teacher!

I used DCWV, I and SU Defining stamp set. I was actually really suprised on how many colors I used and they look great together. The colors are bright and really loudly screams: "SCHOOOL!!" I really like it!

I made this thinking about love, happiness and my hubby! I know these are not his colors at all but it is how I feel when I see him you know light, soft... (sigh) sorry I got carried away hehehe.

Wow!!! I tried sooo hard, so hard. Tim and I have two cameras and I tried using one of them but the memory stick was not working on my computer!!!! How frustrating but anyway... I just wanted to still posted eventhough I would have not been participating.

I was inspired by Kristina making her own embellishments! So here I made my own flowers just two but I think they turnout very cute. It was difficult not to use white I had to!!!I used colors from the challenge but I got tha cardstock from The Pack from DCVW! I love it!I also used Stampin Up smart cookie set! I wish there was a bigger version of this stamps set!

So what do you think? Do you think I could have make it to the top ten!? hehehe I don't know but I really liked the flowers I might use it in other projects! we'll see!

Remember?!

A few weeks ago I posted a message really happy 'cause I found "Scrap it" the only store with basic scrapbooking and cardmaking materials. They have this Challenge where they let me pick a chipboard letter with wich I have to create a card... after struggling for a whole week I was able to come up with a couple of cards that I love... check them out.

I picked the letter "U" I think the U is very versatile... easy to use when it comes to a writing a sentiment. The only problem was that the letter was almost too big. LOL. it worked all right I think, right? what do yah think?

Materials: well, let me see if I remember.. uhm... yes bazzil cards stock, the paper I don't know where it is from I think it is K&B, I used versamark, white embossing powder, SU smart cookie set, some small pieces of DCWV card stock from The Pack.

Anyway... three different cards with couple of things in common, can you tell wich ones? besides the letter "U"? And wich one is your favorite? Mine is the one with orange designer paper!

Max Is Here

I made friends with a great Pre-Kinder teacher. Karina is a wonderful person I wish I would have met her long time ago. Anyway... she will be bringing Max to this world very soon and we are all wishing her the best while she is getting ready for his arrival.

Karina was looking at other cards I made and she came up with this great layout. I think it is soooo lovely! it took me nothing to put these cards together. What yah think? I love it!!

The paper is from DCWV, star punch and dimensionals... the rest is my printer's work.

(sigh) I can't wait to see little Max soon!

Teacher-Like Card

Looking at old cards. I found this one. I loved it sooo very much I thought.. hey I have not share this card yet. So here it is...

I remember when I made this card I was not working and was in teacher-like kind of cards... I got a very cheap apple puncher and used it to create this and other cards... I really like the apple design. Also these very basic colors... reminds me of school and the simple colors that can make a teacher's room a very warm and welcomy environment for children.

No fancy materials for this card. I think the only fancy one was the ribbon I got from the local craft store. Of course the SU stamps and ink. The paper I took from my notebook and old boxes cardboard ... Isn't it cute? I love the red apple, I used Versamark and clear embossing powder and finally punched the apple!!! really neat contrast and a great look.

Look at this card and think of ..... a Pencil! ;)

Long Time Not Updated

Yeap I know it is been a long time and I am very sorry. But here I come with a couple of cards.

But before giving you the cards I want to share something. I finally went to the only scrapbooking store in this big city. Not a very big store,taking into account that there are soooo many companies with soo many great products.. you can go to http://www.scrapit.com.ve/ to check it out. It is not a big website but it will give you an idea of how new the scrapnooking is in this country.

So I tried uing some Color Inspiration and couldn't post it on time to participate in the top 20 but I just thought I could post it now.. I used the same sentiment stamp...

Did you noticed I am not using any designer paper? I know I guess I have used none before but it is not usual. Soooooo what do you think? like it? any suggestions?

I really like these colors, they are sort of citrus-y. I agree with Kristina!...

This is my second favorite one!

I used My Minds Eyes paper, Chipboard ( I dont remember the company) and no stamp! How crazy is that!? I also used paper punches, markers... I am trying to think really hard about the materials I used but they don't seem to be coming up in my mind.

This is a card I made before our Christmas break. Ian and Pauline got married at a beach. I never saw her dress but it was funny to learn that her dress was the same color the ribbon I used!!! how crazy is that? I bet that if I tried to plan the card based on her dress color it would have never happened!

This card was a group card so, meaning a card a group of people would share and signed fro Ian ansd Pauline. Ana (a friend) added couple of handmade paper inside so friends from work could sing the card.

Wow!!! great colors, ah? I had to scratch my head a couple of time today... I have to admit it was fun, fun, fun trying to make a card with these colors

... I am loving this card and might keep working tonight in another card with the same colors.

I used SU retired set Smorgasborders, FX ribbon. I love this ribbon I don't get to use a lot, the THANKS letters.. where given to me some time ago, I also used SU my favorites set ( I think that is the name of it).

Jet lag and a couple of cards!

Hello everyone,

Sorry I have not been around for a while. We travel for three weeks to the amazing country of Thailand (happyland). We had a great time! but we were left with a big jet lag. After being back home for 5 days we are still weaking up at 3 or 4 in the morning. I am very happy Tim is a morning person just like me... we get up (we don't have much of a choice) and start our day super early, having breakfast together, something we don't get to do it often and so on.

Okay sooo... inspite being very sleepy I get to do couple cards during the say when I am still wide awake... so, here are couple of "mommy" cards... I think they look great, what do you think?

I made this card trying to use the colors in the challenge aaaaaand see if some of my friends ( who are teachers) like them!

I used SU colors and stamps I also added a bit of cork! actually an apple cork, what yah think?

I really like this card. I think the colors are very elegant!

Kristina Color Inpiration # 34

Hola, hola!

I have made this card for a great person and a good friend! She is moving next week to a different country and eventhough I don't see her often, I know I will miss her a bunch and hope we meet again someday. I hope she enjoys it, actually, I made a set of 4 note cards for her as a gift. I will show them to you later in the week.

For now I just want to show you one of the four cards I made for my friend. This cards were inspired by the template Kristina, once shared with all of us, I will try and look the link so you can have it too. So I hope you like it! Here it is.

Cute, ah? I really loooove this paper, I have used design paper from Special Occasions.

I keep telling you and myself this, it is hard to create a card with stamps that I have used once and again, and again, again and again. I am getting more as soon as I can. I am mentioning this because of the sentiment on this card. It was hand written, which is not so great looking, (Sigh)

Hola!

It's been a very long time since I published anything... I feel like I say this every time I update the blog hehehe... I have to apologize.

Anyway, tonight I am bringing you a couple of cards. My idea was to make them so I could place cute pics inside somewhere, what do you think of these?

I have created this window card, thinking about bright colors and very Christmas like with trees and snowflakes. I loved making this one, it was very fun and it is the second time I have ever used buttons. I might change the buttons to something else since it might be too bulky to mail it.

I was trying to create something not so Christmasy but Christmasy, you know what I mean? hehehe. Christmas colors, but not necessarily the season symbols, except for the embossed trees on the right of the card, really hard to see in this pic.

With this one I tried to get the season symbols with soft colors, the only problem with this one is that I didn't finished it. I had the idea but then got distracted and "puff" it was gone... nothing that I tried I liked... I think I am just getting tire of using the same stamps set over and over again. Anyway, what can I do to finish this card? Any ideas or suggestions?

Actually, you know what? I think that would be a great idea for a challenge, don't you think? to finished a card...uhmmmm... I wonder if there are challenges like this. Okay okay I am getting distracted once again.

Good morning everyone!

First of I am very happy I made it to the top ten on the Color Inspiration #32 at Kristina Werner! I didn't really mean to, I though I didn't have a chance since it took me forever to come up with a great idea but... hey I made it!!!!!!

I have always wanted to do this kind of card since I saw Jennifer McGuire making a fab one. Mine is a bit different because I am not dry embossing and I do not have the same stamps, or materials since they are soo hard to find them here! anyway... Here it is. I hope you like it... and as usual, if you have any suggestions or improvements, I am all ears, sorry, eyes!

I almost forgot, I love how the ribbon looks on this card, but If I am going to mail it, I wonder if the envelop would end up tearing or something! any suggestions about that? I know I can replace the ribbon with something else, I just really like it! what do you do when you have to mail a cards with a nice ribbon and bow or nod?

Baby cards?...Mommy Cards!?

Uhmmm well, I had no idea babies had their own " business" cards!!! They are actually called Mommy Cards.This is sooo new to me... but you know I think it is still very cute and fab!

This is how I understand they work: when you go to a B-day party you prepare your gift and you add one of these cute cards to the gift so the parents and the kid will know who brought it!

Sometimes theses cards would be a family card, where all the family member have their name on as well as their contact info... clever and cute, ah? I wish I had a super printer to get them done with lots of color and amazing graphics... (sigh).

A friend of mine asked me (long time ago, I have to admit) if I'd do a couple for her and so I told her I would make some samples for her... not that I forgot about her I was just busy ( I am telling you, Ashley!!) anyhow! tell me what yah think, would you!? Any suggestions?

Good morning everyone!

I am having a big trouble getting ideas. I thought I had a great inspiration from other card maker in this Color Inspiration but ohhh boy I was soooo wrong! Anyway... I have tried so hard and this is what I came up with. Check them out...

This first card was pretty easy to come up with the idea I actually had it in my mind for a while... it was funny to see people with the same ideas... not really hard to make very simple too... before I thought it was a great idea but now.. I am not so sure... what do you guys think? It definitely needs something, I just don't know what.

Now this is more traditional, more layouty like, you know what I mean? well I got no help from any card I have seen for this one. I just went for the safe traditional-nothing-new kind of card... ( sigh) not very inspired lately I guess... sniff, sniff...

Hey you guys! Here are the second stack of note cards. BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG difference with the ones from the post before. once again I just took a piece of designer paper, matching colors and glue! along with other tools! what ya think?

You can see. I stopped being so lazy and used other tools, like punches, and thread. I love these two.. hehehe... not because I made them, I am humble but they just look good hehehehe.

Note cards!

I need to update, I know. I have been making cards like crazy. I have got an order of 70 Christmas cards for an office!!! I am soooo excited... I keep working like a mad woman... anyway... today while printing the message for those cards I remember I have not share my note cards.

For this cards I am not using rubber stamps because I wanted these cards to be for any occasion... I was having a hard time with the designs you will be able to see it. I started by taking the designer paper ( the pack from DCWV), cut pieces and got matching paper along and at the end had a wonderful mess on the table... it was not easy to clean I am telling you,it even hurt to through tiny little pieces o paper away, but... I know I wont be able to do anything with them...

Okay I will stop talking. These are the first group! Enjoy and please don't forget to leave a comment with your opinion or even suggestions

You can tell I was just going crazy and without directions with these designs... you will notice when you see the next group of note cards I will poste them in a few minutes.

My First Layout! Yiipii!!!

I keep trying to update my blog with my latest work.

Something I have worked for tha past week was... MY FIRST LAYOUT!! I made it for my sister's friend too, Lauremy. I decided it was a great occassion and wehad a great idea too.

The idea of this "album" as I call it, is to place advices in each envelope, I created two pages for for the same purpose, I will explain more on each pic. Okay with further due.... Ta da!!!!!!

First Advice: This two pages are dedicated to raltionships advice. the one on the right was used to place the title and the one on the left was used to place the envelop where the advices will be placed. This is repeats through out the rest of the papges of the album.

Second Advice: Intimacy.

Third Advice: Home and house work etc.

Fourth Advice: Kitchen and recipes!

Fifth Advice: Beauty.

The materials I used... I am afraid it will be a bit difficult to list them all but the main materials were: Pictures from my favorite magazine: Living, DCWV paper, My mind's eye. (you can tell I have no more paper than those two hehehehe), Alpha Punch out, Ink dots, Chipboard, UHU glue, 2way glue, Cheap fabric flowers, SU stamps, American Craft rubons, brads, buttons, post it, stickers among others I can't remember right now.

I have to say, and I am very proud of this, The cardboard base for this album was completely recycled, from other paper goodies I had laying around. The spiral was made at a local store ( God! if only I had one of those machines) The dimensions of this almuns is 5" x 6" and the envelops are 4"x 3". Ufff I am tired... so.. what do you guys think? do you give it your thumps up?!

Invitation for an unusual occasion!

Good morning and Happy Sunday to everyone,

I have to apologize for not posting ins such a long time. This has been a very busy week for me. But I am back annnnd I want to show you a couple of things I have been working on.

I made this card invitations for my sister's friend. Lauremy ( my sister's friend) just got married and they want to celebrate giving her a welcome-to-the-married-life kind of party. I was very sad I had no stamps for this occasion so I had to appeal to the computer and the amazing things you can do with it.

I used Windows Office. Got the images from Microsoft Clip Art. Okay, so here it is! what do yah think of this one?

My sister doesn't live in the same city I do, so I tied a cute ribbon and sent it her way like this. So...don't be shy and let me know what you think and if there are any suggestions, I will gladly take it!

Birthday Challenge

Yes, it is my birthday today! Spending it at home. Yesterday, I was checking Lindsay's blog and found she has this 3 challenges, you can participate in one or all three . You can click here to check for more info.

On the first card I made it for the challenge # 1 Technique: Where I am try to keep stamps and embellishments short by not stamping at all . I was inspired by a great artist paper in Etsy. I used a paper piercing and as letter molds I used Chipboard Alphabet from Jo-Ann Scrap Essentials. It was easy and therapeutic.

This card, I made for Challenge # 2 Color: Making a card with none Christmasy colors!? Holy cow! Well, I did my best and I think I pull it off. Let me think, for this one I used a lot of tiny little things specially color. I used all Stampin Up colors from the Bold brights set of ink pads ( Tempting turquoise, Orchid Opulence, Yoyo Yellow) I usedPunch Pals stamp set, Bassil purplish cardstock and my mind's eye designer paper. Ufff... I think I got them all. If you have any questions about any of the materials please let me know!

I have made other Christmas cards but I have always used, you kow the regular colors, greens and reds, etc. I like how this one turned out, what do you think? Do you think you can make a Christmas card with non-traditional colors? Give it a try!

An 8 year Old Girly Card

Not much hapening this week, after being on a great Hike in Merida. I wanted to also show a card I made before traveling.

It was made for an 7 year girly girl who was turning 8. I loved covering the chipboard I need to get better files to give them a better finish. I used a regular small file and I was soooooo tempted to use embossing powder... (sigh) didn't have the time and I thought it would have riund the kind of vintage look of it.

Anyway, here it is. I used DCWV paper and My mind's eye paper. I enjoyed using Best ocassion chipboard punched board, I loved using 2 way glue, Defining Alphabet, Wood Stamps from the paper studio/stampabiities.

I have not been very inspired lately! I keep looking at gorgeous card makers, I am soooooooo impress with everything they create and then I checked on Kristina's blog and there it was, a Color Inpsiration, I am a bit sad there isn't going to be Top Ten but instead, we get something greater not only we can check each other's submissions but also get Blog Candies... yummmmmy! and so here are the colors for this week and my submissions.

Babies! How cute they are!!!! I keep making baby cards for invitations or just for congratulations. This one is for a baby girl.

Yes, This one was inspire in one of the soooo many Cards Kristina made some time ago! I looooooved that card and so I decided to give it a try. It is definitely not as super dupper cute as hers but I still think it is cute what do you guys think?

This one I have made taking the template from the card I posted some time ago. I couldn't help but adding a brown ribbon and make it yummy. You can also see the tiny little line I was going to use to add a message but I just didn't think it would look very good. Pretty simple yet again cute!

World Card Making Day!!!!!

Did you know there was a worldwide card making day? there IS one!!! and there soooooo many people in the world celebrating for a whole week!!!

wanted to be part of it no matter what! So I went to my most visited blogs and kept checking and learning from their cards, videos and most important.. their Giveaways!!! amazing things were given away!!! I wanted them all!!!! But there were sooooo many people participating that I was just a drop in a huge sea! I tried it alll week long... posting here, posting there, things were given away and none was for me.... Until today when I got back from work.. Ta daaaaaa!!!! I wan one!!! super 25$ GC from 2Peas from Jana Millen!! I love Jana and all of her creations! I also loooooooooooove 2 Peas in a Bucket!!!!

(Sigh) Doesn't it feel great to win something!? even if your card gets picked among almost 200 submissions...that is why I loooove Kristina Werner Color Challenges. It is feeling your blood running and your heart pumping!!!... I know I am exaggerating, but I am sure you agree with me when I say that it feels great and it is an honor to be picked as a winner designer of a great card!

Congratulations You Have Had a Few Baby Cards

I was very productive today, an the whole weekend, not only took care of couple of things at home but was also bursting with creativity. well, not really it took e a while to came up with two baby cards, but here is the other one I made today.

I was sooo happy I had to take a pic and post it. I will change it tomorrow morning!

I am very happy that baby cards does not feel as difficult anymore, after making the second one.

For this one I used SU punch, Fast Note stamps set, Tempting Turquoise ink pad, I have also used Congratulation stamp from stampabilities and Stabilo fine marker (0.4), the design paper. I am not sure who's because this paper and a bunch more I bought it used!

I really loooove the color combination, the window and the ribbon which I don't use often. Very lovely card. Do you think it is lovely too? hehehe I know I have to learn to be more humble hehehe. Still let me know!

So Very Difficult

Hello there!

Sorry I have been absent for a few days, actually I think it was the whole week or at least that is how it feels.

I have been trying to make baby cards, you know, happy new baby, welcome little one, etc. I just find out it is not easy! at least not for me, so I have been around checking people's work on baby cards and some of them have inspired me but I came up with my own design. So.. here it is:

For this card I used: Stamping up colors (Chocolate chip, Positively pink) also SU rubber stamp from the So Very set. Gross grain ribbon, some old book pages for the scallop on the left and a bit to stamp "sweet" trying to make it look vintage!

What do you guys think? Any suggestions? I will take them!Hope you like it, enjoy it and inspire you! See yah. I will be back soon with more baby cards.

Business Cards

So, after Kristina's Color Inspiration I started to think in a design for my business cards. It was not easy, I was actually thinking about just take the logo and the info and get them done somewhere, but then my HH (Handsome Husband) mentioned wouldn't they be better if you make them yourself? I mean you are a paper crafter and have good ideas sure will come up with something.

I said to myself "DUHHHH". Of course I should!!! So after thinking, trials and errors I came up with an original design for my business cards. Check them out!!!

I made them with leftover papers I had from other projects, I think I gave them good use. I made these cards with different paper design on both sides. I made sure they would go together or contrast nicely.

Also after reading and trying so many ways to glue the vellum paper... I decided I would go with the UHU glue stick and use it in very small quantities. Paper is from My minds eye and DCWV. I thought about adding on tiny embellishments but... I was worried it would have been too much and it would not fit in people's wallet or whatever. So I thought about some cute little holes and it looks nice!

What do you think?

Here we go again!! Lovely Autumn colors

I know I have posted a card for today but you tell me... who can resist one of Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration? I had to participate specially because of the colors!!! they are very Autumnmy! ( does that word exists?) anyway.... I found this pattern on Paper Craft Magazine it is a design from Wendy Sue Anderson and I knew it would go perfect with these colors! So here it is.

It is as usual a very simple card, I meant to write " Gobble til you Wobble" but I wasn't sure and I was afraid it was not going to look so good. Anyway, I hope you like it and enjoy it!

Three Little Hearts

So I've had this idea in my mind for such a long time... but then again, I was thinking it would be a very-busy-looking card, with so many things in it: textures, windows, faux embossing, water mark with Versamark, etc... ahhhhhh but I think that is what I like about it.

Great Dinner, Awsome Chutney

Hello there!
Do you guys remember I was soooo proud of my crystallized ginger the other day? Well, I used part of it to make Mango Chutney for an Indian Dinner we were going to host just for another couple friend of us.

I prepared the Chutney the afternoon before and it turned out great. I wish I took pics of everything I prepared for that dinner.

Of course, there is always something that doesn't go as planned, right? There was so much food on our small table and everything looked sooo good and smells blended in so deliciously that I forgot to take out the chutney... I was going to cry next day when I was doing the dishes... and remembered.. But we had left overs and decided to give it a try.... Ohhhhh....you guys have no idea..... It was glorious!! what a fab lunch I had! Anyway, this is the pic I took of the chutney when I finished preparing it, it was hot so I am holding it with a towel I love the colors!

Do you guys have a favorite kind of food? I love Indian, Japanese, Thai and Venezuelan of course.

Kristina Color Inspiration #22

These are some amazing Color Kristina has introduced us to, ah? After checking some of the creations I have to say I am glad I am not the only one having a hard time putting these colors together and it was soooo hard I only used two colors.

Lately I have been all about windows hehehe... so here it is ... well uhmmm.... it is not a window, well sort of uhmmm. I am not sure what do you guys would say it is!?

just used 200gr. weight Mavi Card stock, SU colors and Fast Notes stam set from SU. Super simple design, two cool colors, one great stamp, that was my entry, what do you guys think?

Something Different

Hello you guys,

I have had tons of free time and between getting cards made and other things, I have been cooking a lot for the past few days.

I come from a family of great cooks, not famous but with great hands for cooking, buenas manos para la cocina, meaning good at seasoning and putting things together and make them work, cooking without measurements and adding things to the eye.

I remember telling my mom I wanted to become a chef when I grew up and even though I am not a chef I love cooking. Anyway, today I was preparing Mango Chutney to eat with super YUMMY Indian food we prepare at home. The recipe requires crystallized ginger and I had to make it from scratch (I don't think I could find it here and if I did I wouldn't buy something I can make myself.) I was so proud of it and how it turned out that I decided it would be a great pic and that I should share it here with you.

I am not very good at taking pics but I really like this one!

So I didn't know how to make crystallized ginger before so I looked it up on the Internet and HERE is the link to the recipe.

I am not as good as my mom or my aunts about eye measuring hehehe... specially if it has to do with things I don't do often!

This is not only easy but super simple, you can use ginger in this form, for sooo many recipes or even eat it as candy it is really good. Can you tell I really like ginger? hehehe!!!

Early Christmas Cards

Good day, Creative People, I made this cards not too long ago and decided I should share them with you since I keep pulling them out and look at them and actually play with them. I am posting all three separate because I love them soo much.

So I used My minds eye paper, Punch Pal Stampin Up set along with the earth colors ink pads from the same company. I loooooove the way it turn out this card and most of all I love the window hehehe. I am sure you have noticed that from the previous post, hehehehe.

Same materials on this card except for the design paper! Don't you love these little fellas?! This set and this penguin was the first stamp I got to use, just one of the some I got this past Summer.

This one right here!!! Is my favorite ever. Can you see the round decoration? it spins!!! yes it does, back and forth!!!!!!! I really like it!

All these card were inspired by the members of the galleries on SCS to whom I want to give tons of Thanks for sharing all your wonderful work, but this one I saw it in You tube. I was looking for the person responsible of my inspiration but can't find it now, I guess it was one of those things you go through, look, enjoy, learn from and don't ever tag or add to your favorites.

I am right now working on other and may post them soon!

Happy Sunday guys!

So I keep having ideas for cards and different sentiments with the exception of keep using this sketch that I loooooove so much. What are your feelings about windows in a card? I am in love with it and last night I stayed up and worked on this card. What do you guys think?

For this card I have used Painted Garden Stampin Up set. I really like it. Ruby Red stamping pad, Defining Alphabet Stamping up set, Versamark and clear embossing powder, design paper from My mind's Eye. BTW, I am so in love with this paper I am using it in all the cards I have been making!

I had such a hard time about picking a pic that I had to post both! hehehe.

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #21

what do you think about this colors? they are very bright and for me... ( yikes) not so easy to put together, I mean I know there were soooooo many things I could have done... including this one I hope you like it, and get inspired!

Another Color Inspiration, I love them. Not so easy this time, at least not for me. at the beggining I would only looked at the beads on the shoes... I couldn't make it work and end up with this:

I think I like it after all. I used... uhmm (thinking) so many things... let me see: Embossing powder, stamping ink pads hehehe sorry I can't remember the names it was a long day, also Little Pieces rubber stamps, Painted garden rubber stamps, and smogarasorders stamp set all from SU, some gross grain white ribbon, rub-ons from American Craft.

...and I think that is it! Enjoy it!!!!

P.S.By the way, is there an easy way to cut the center circle of the letter o? If you know please let me know. Pleeeeease.

Good morning you guys!

Hope you are doing just great. I have this idea for a Valentine card design. I used For a Friend stamp set from Stampin' Up. I am really enjoying my new toys. I am so eager to get the new caddy and get more toys.

I also used some great Staedler 0.3mm markers, ¿great bright colors and just great I want to use them in every project hehe. Of course I almost forget, I used design paper from different companies... let me think.. uhmmmm... DCWV... ohhhh me and my bad memory... ohhh and My Mind' Eye. I really like this design, it is very simple, but you know how you see how simple it is that you keep going back to check it and see if you could add a little something? I just could find anything else to put in it. If you have suggestions, please leave a comment and let me know.

Carolina, a good friend from work is leaving overseas... (sigh)... We will miss her. I made this card really fast. I was inspired by Bombus at Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5114036 ) I love the cards and other awesome goodies made creatively but also looooove the fact that the things are made out of recycle materials! check it out and you will see.

So... what do ya'll think? I really like it! it is very simple and very easy to make. I used American Craft Rub-ons, an old map from Chicago area ( though she is not going there hehe) Post-its and ribbonFX I got from Hobby Lobby this Summer.

So before participating on the CI #20 I was inspired by some of the images I saw at SCS' Gallery and here are some of the cards I have created within this week.

Yeap, great set from stamping up, I love them!! I love this little chick, you will see it again soon. What do you think of this one?

I Can't Believe It!!!

I made it to the Random Ten... I am so thrill but..... I am going to cry because I can't see the comments and people can't post anything!!! ( sniff, sniff...) Anyway, I am trying to read and see what is wrong with it and try to fix it.

I have never saw any pf my cards published anywhere before!!! I am soo happy I am getting inspired to createa card!! I will later after I fix this problem.

P.S. Girls, I don't want to restrain you from posting, I love hearing your comments and see what I could do better with my creations so pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease just write an email while I try to fix this problem. ;)

Kristina's Color Inspiration #20

I am so very super happy I was able to participate again at the Color Inspiration from Kristina Werner. Here are the colors that should have inspired my card. Loving the furniture and much more the colors.

I am so eager to know what you guys think. I have used My mind's eye paper, MM brads, some scrapessential letter molds, old olive stamping pad to color the flowers and regular ribbon from the local store. And.... taaaa daaa, here it is, what do y'all think?

I think it is very simple design with cute colors and just enough embellishments, do you agree? Please let me know, leave a post!

Tonight I learn that Kristina is not feeling very well. So I thought of making a card for you not just because you are sick, but also thanking you for everything that you do for all of us. THANK YOU!!! Anyway, here it is:

Cute, ah? well I think so! hehehe. I got the inspiration from Angie! Thank you Angie, it is a gorgeous idea. This card is a spinner card, just to keep your mind from thinking about your back pain, Kristina!

Fruty cards!

Can you tell I like fruits? I have been working on these cards everyday. I gave it a try some time ago but lately I have been almost dreaming about them so I started them, and finished them after making a stop to participate on Kristina Color Inspiration.

Cute, ah? I used some of my new toys here, and they are awsome I have to admit though that I did most of the work by hand, cutting the fruits, adding some glitter here and there! I bet you can tell ; p

What do you guys think? Please let me know!!!!

KWerner Color Inspiration #18

After being missed in action ( a good vacation action) I was soooooo... desperate for another Kwerner challenge, and here is my attempt.

I like the color combination but...

Uhmmmm. I think I didn't exactly follow the colors... yikes!!! Look at this:

Nahhh, definitely not. I will place the computer close to where I work so I can see the colors and the whole design!! Don't have a photographic memory. still I would love to know what you think about this card, please.
